A Guide to Using Intuitive Feng Shui Principles to Improve your Life Immediately - and how this Compares to a Professional Feng Shui Consultation
Although having a professional Feng Shui Consultation will work wonders to improve your life, some people think they can’t afford it or don’t realise how powerful the results can be.
Every home or office Feng Shui consultation starts by looking at where you are now and where you want to be – and then shows you the steps you need to take to get there. Then after creating your vision, you can work with the appropriate sectors of your home/office as well as the changing energies of time, to implement minor changes to make much faster progress towards your goals. There is a lot more to it than that, but every positive step leads you closer to your desired reality.
When you know your environment intimately, you understand where the power points are for creating wealth and health, good relationships, respect, recognition, success of your children and creative projects, as well a flowing career or harmonious path through life. These can all be activated through the correct use of colour, materials and symbolism as well as more advanced solutions.
Feng Shui Ultimately Starts With Practicality
You can intuitively use Feng Shui principles to gain instant improvements in your life, resolve minor problems and experience things moving forwards more easily. Read on, and if you implement a few of these ideas – you will get a glimpse of the potential this often underestimated art form has to offer. It is amazing how small changes will help shift stuck, stagnant energy almost immediately and working this process consistently, will dramatatically improve your sense of wellbeing.
Clean, Fix and Redecorate with Intention
When we improve, clean up or fix any area of our home/office or garden, especially when combined with the power of intention, amazing shifts can take place.
I personally like cleaning; it always makes me feel good. There is a sense of accomplishment when everything is fresh, clean and in order. I also find it very relaxing, and a way to unwind my busy brain and often get great ideas when I am pottering around putting things in order. At the moment I am on a mission, to organise and refine all areas of my life, by working on my environment both at home and in the office.
I (and probably most of us) are still going through a transitional period, following the aftermath of the pandemic. This was described to me by someone as a ‘cocooning phase’ – a time to go within, restore our energy and reflect more. Not to be hated or frustrated by; it is part of a bigger pattern, like recessions and planets retrograding. They provide necessary time to reflect, close down, finish and tie up loose ends and anything that is not working dies. They ultimately clear the path to move forwards freely. Energy cannot expand forever without restriction or boundaries. This defies the laws of physics.
How to Use Intention
The above are just a few ideas you can expand on. They work better when you understand the different sectors of your home as you can then fix your priority areas first.
Your Home as a Mirror
As you change, your home needs to also change to reflect this. And whilst based on Feng principles the same basic hues in specific sectors will apply, such as using fiery colours to activate the wealth and health stars, some of the tones that you had before may now feel discordant. If so, it is time to repaint! However as you know, when you paint one wall – everything else looks grubby or out of alignment! So the journey begins. Redecorate your whole house! It’s the fastest way to change your life.
It is interesting how many people that were furloughed used that time productively to refresh their living space. I got interviewed by the East Anglian Daily Times during lockdown, to help people create an environment that felt harmonious to both live and work in, which was so critical at this point. The advice I gave had to be broad, but ultimately what we all aim for, is to feel productive and happy when working, and calm and relaxed after hours – whatever space we are in.
So getting your environment feeling good, and supporting you and your family to feel connected calm and balanced, is key to health and happiness – whether you are back in the office, working flexi-hours or still working full time from home.
The difference between this (intuitive Feng Shui) and hiring a professional is that tiny tweaks suggested by an experienced eye, can create profound changes almost instantaneously. It will also show you things from a different perspective and identify subtleties you may have overlooked. I still have a professional consultation each year, because seeing our own environment objectively can be almost impossible.
Your Energy as a Cup
Think of your energy as a cup. Every little thing that is unfinished, or annoying is like a small hole. Whether that is a broken bulb, loose end, emotional business as yet unfinished – it needs plugging. The less holes in your cup, the less energy drains you have affecting you and the more productive you are! It’s amazing how the little things all add up and annoy you. Equally, as they are fixed, your energy returns as if by magic.
Coming Out of the Cocoon
We are now collectively coming out of the imposed period of quietude and adjusting to a new way of life. Hopefully a more authentic and fulfilling one! I’m not fully out yet, as I think a lot of people aren’t, but I’m ok with it being that way. My wild side is saying 'hi!' now, every once in a while, suggesting it’s time to travel again soon-ish… But I feel blessed by the realignment this period gave me.
Wherever you are at in this process, do reflect on what the gift of ‘lockdown’ was for you. And now, despite an uncertain economy, remember there are always opportunities. It just depends on how you look at life. As Darwin said – ‘it is not the strongest of the species that survives, but rather, that which is most adaptable to change.’ Think Domino's Pizza in 2008. They rocked it.
How I can Help
I specialise in helping people move through transitional periods. I have run a successful business for over 20 years and have lived through many ups and downs. ‘Ups’ aren’t always ups and equally ‘downs’ are the same, same, but different.
The key in life changing times, is to find someone who resonates with you, to work with, to help facilitate the fastest progress. Most therapy should be a brief intervention; techniques have evolved rapidly in the last 20 years. Time is precious, so if you think I might be a good fit for you, contact me, and I will arrange a free 30-minute Zoom consultation to discuss your current points requiring assistance and we can discuss if I can help. We can then decide what will work best to get you to where you need to be. I work fluidly, combining multiple trainings and techniques, to facilitate rapid change.
