Lilith – The Dark Moon 

I have always been a bit curious about Lilith the female version of Pluto (my simplified explanation until now). 

Mine is conjunct natal Jupiter within less than a degree orb. So it is hugely magnified by Jupiter’s expansive presence and sits at the top of my chart. It is also within less than 1 degree orb, square to my ascendant / descent axis. So connects with how I show myself to the world (or am perceived by others) and in the relationships I attract.

Having recently had a series of highly unusual events which, have felt not just fated, but also a blessing, hidden by an interruption / surface level loss / delay / severe annoyance – and the deeper outcome more like divine intervention. 

So as I elevate my swollen ankle (latest ‘drama’) I decided to finally work out what is going on. Everything can be explained by Astrology if you look hard enough. And as there is nothing huge this month globally speaking, and my Chinese chart is pretty good too, I am puzzled. 

So after digging a bit last night I noticed that transiting Lilith was exactly trine my natal Venus, in the 24hr window of when the plane got struck by lightning and I seriously hurt my left (feminine side) ankle. What on earth does that mean? 

Transiting Uranus is also coming into near exact square to my natal Mercury which rules travel, however in my experience, Uranus transits and any significant resulting event’ is usually on time to the second. 

Maybe just as time appears to be speeding up, so is my outdated analysis of Uranus. I will watch the day it perfects (not far off) with a healthy dose of excitement and caution – although expecting a good outcome will help it to manifest, especially as Jupiter, Lilith and my ascendant / descendant are also part of this mega Uranian transit. 

Back to Lilith – And How Her Energy Was Coming Through in My Meditations Yesterday

While I was in hospital yesterday, getting treatment for my ankle – I journeyed to alleviate my boredom. No drumming just journeying in my mind and noting everything I saw down for about 30 mins. One key aspect that kept coming up was going through black voids – not a new topic to me, but this vision of entering void after void came up around 5 times. 

When I read about the Black Moon Lilith, I found out she ‘is not a planet, rather a mathematical point between the Earth and the Lunar apogee. A dark cosmic void, empty space or dark closet’. 

Another description says: ‘Her astrological energy is that of anger, disruption, and seduction. She's your shadow self that brings on negative karma and personal trials. Black Moon Lilith demands that you explore the skeletons in your closet’.

This inauspicious start to the trip meant instead of getting out and about, visiting galleries and seeing the city, which looks like a lot of fun (see movie below) I have had to rest up for a few days after a trip to the hospital.

Lilith – The Untamed Shadow Side that Won’t Stay Quiet

So looking for positives as is my natural tendency once I have finished getting angry was that by getting laid up I have had some much needed time, to rest on all levels – and face some very current shadow issues which I have been ‘too busy’ to address. I have been burning the candle at all ends, for far too long, and disregarding my physical health to a fair degree in the process. 

So away from seductive temptations (like overworking and other patterns of unresolved addiction – e.g. staying up too late because I am so into what I am doing or missing meals because I am in the flow) is very good for me. Added to that, being in a calm, neutral, airy space is actually helping my brain unwind. 

Lilith is also being gradually more and more activated, as transiting Uranus approaches a conjunction with her, which conjoin s  my natal Jupiter to the exact degree. Jupiter expands anything it touches, and so amplifies the effects of Lilith in Taurus – where she is lustful, self-indulgent, and an unapologetic hedonist. Ha ha – yep I’ll take that. She has a voracious appetite for sex, money, food, and all the pleasures of the material world. When her desires are not fulfilled, she's capable of extreme rage. That might be a but extreme, but I do like my creature comforts A LOT.

The Positive Side of Lilith

She also symbolises courage, inner strength and feminine power and energy. So the conjunction to Jupiter (in my chart) also amplifies this more positive side to her expression and I have acted with extreme courage and inner strength to navigate the last few days alone. Unable to barely walk – I have had to; there is no room service where I am staying for food, water and continuous replacement of ice cubes. And I have noticed my feminine charms have been more in evidence than usual, which has attracted excellent advice, amazingly fast and free assistance at the local military hospital, and I have relaxed into the flow of life more than usual not desperately wishing to be anywhere other than where I am right now. 

Boundless Optimism AKA Lilith combined with Jupiter’s Positivity

Being even more optimistic, it gives me a chance to clean up my bad habits that have crept in recently, and this will lead to higher vibrational outcomes in all areas of life. As the transit on the 22/23^rd June was trine my natal Venus, this could mean pausing long enough to develop myself into the person I need to be to attract the relationship I wish to have (Venus represents love, money and the arts). However it could also through its disrupting quality, switch up my business to a more satisfying (less draining) experience, which is very much needed. Or it could switch up my thinking – as Venus rules both my 10^th house of career and my third house which represents amongst other things, the mind.

My mind has been round and round in circles for months over major life decisions. So what a gift to have time to mediate in a bright room, hearing the vibrant city calling for me when I am done here, and it is so unusual for me to sit down for 5 mins, let alone lay for hours at a time, and I am beginning to quite like this new chilled out me. Maybe the energy of Berlin is also having an affect….

The Energy of Berlin Using Astro Cartography

Astro Cartography shows how your birth energy combines with all of the places in the world. For me, Ipswich and England in general, energies are not auspicious – in fact they are tense, there is a restless vibration making it hard to form lasting roots, and The Uranus/IC line effects are doubled as I have this aspect in my natal chart too. 

I have known this for a long time, but big life changes are hard to make, when you are stuck on a treadmill of never-ending busyness and can’t relax to let the big ideas flow.

However, I was drawn to go to Poland, shortly before lockdown and decided to look up the energies there. The trip was ‘seen’ during deep meditation, a story for another day, but the energies were also extremely beneficial. Briefly, for me, the energies (Sun/DC line) represent a place where I can more easily find a life partner, will have my energies reflected to me, like a mirror by everyone I meet (helping me correct my shadow aspects and recognising all my good points too!). It is also very beneficial for people in the arts.  So although not my reason for going, I was aware of this and felt very much at ease with myself and found the people so friendly and helpful there. I also made some fantastic art at the Muzeum of Light in Lodz and found my light sabre - my Shamanic Falstaff.

I had not looked up Berlin until now. I came here to find my roots and do a film making course. However with spare time on my hands, I just did and (taken from Astro.com) it is definitely a good place for me too.

Back to Lilith to Conclude

There is loads of information about her on the web which I don’t need to repeat here. For me, I feel her transit to my Venus has caused the disruption I needed to pause. In addition, due to the good energy of Berlin, for me, the stubborn, possessive Lilith in Taurus position (natally) I have, which is being challenged by the transiting Uranus conjunction, is helping to break the suffocating ties to living in my beautifully decorated cage near Ipswich. Life moves in cycles, and sometimes we have to move on or stagnate. Being a slow mover in matters of business and money decisions, I have stagnated, on reflection now for too long. So with this imposed bed rest and the clarity slowing down has provided, I can hopefully break free and fly to new adventures fairly soon. I will be watching the Lilith transits going forwards with a lot of interest.
